Alexa M. Starkey

Experience
Alexa joined Taylor, Minnette, Schneider & Clutter as an associate attorney in October 2024 after graduating from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She focuses her practice on criminal law, family law, and estate planning.

Education & Memberships
Born and raised in Veedersburg, Alexa has always known she wanted to serve the community she calls home. Inspired by her mother’s lifelong legal career in Fountain County, Alexa saw firsthand the impact an attorney can have in helping people navigate life’s challenges. That experience sparked her own passion for practicing law in her hometown.

Alexa earned her B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from Purdue University in 2021 before attending law school at McKinney. During law school, she gained hands-on experience through the Rural Justice Program, completing internships with the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and Warren Circuit Court. She also served in the Family Law Clinic, volunteering as both a Guardian ad Litem and Court Appointed Special Advocate in Marion County.

Family and Community Involvement
Today, Alexa is vice president of the Fountain County Bar Association and continues to volunteer each year at the County 4-H Fair. She lives in Veedersburg with her husband, Tyler, and their two dogs, Arlo and Ruby. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, golfing, and spending summer days at the lake. Alexa’s guiding principle in both life and work is simple: “Success isn’t coincidental.”
