Experience
Following law school, Kent Minnette trained and practiced with a Chicago, Illinois litigation firm. In 2001, Kent returned to Indiana and served as a Marion County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. Then in 2003, Kent joined with Dan, Darren, and Ann to launch Taylor, Chadd, Minnette, Schneider & Clutter. Since TCMSC’s opening, he has primarily practiced municipal law, injury law, estate planning, business law, criminal defense, and as a litigator.
Education & Memberships
Kent earned a Hanover College B.A. in 1993. His J.D. followed in 1998 from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. Kent holds both Illinois and Indiana law licenses. He is currently an American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and Montgomery County Bar Association member.
Family & Community Involvement
Kent and his wife, Erica, have four children, Reagan, Reese, Samuel, and Jason. The Minnettes are St. Bernard’s Catholic Church parishioners, where Kent serves on the Parish Finance Council. One of Kent’s passions is coaching. Before attending graduate school, Kent taught and coached baseball in the Indianapolis Public School system. Later, he coached Crawfordsville junior-high baseball and with the Indiana Bulls. Most recently, Kent has enjoyed coaching Crawfordsville Middle School football and basketball, and youth baseball as a co-founder of the Crawfordsville Baseball Club. Kent’s commitment is strong to his Indiana community as well. He worked with great community leaders to help the Montgomery United Fund for Youth raise over $1 million between 2006 and 2007. Kent now serves as a trustee on the Crawfordsville Community School Corporation school board. And, finally, Kent is a Sugar Creek Players theater troupe member, and proud of great local productions of Young Frankenstein and The Addams Family.
